    Department of Biological Sciences Faculty of Science University of Manitoba Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Term Instructor Position # 30644

    Responsibilities :

    The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a two-year fixed term appointment at the Instructor 1 level, commencing September 1, 2021 or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    Qualifications :

    The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and pedagogical development. Outstanding candidates in any area of Biology will be considered, with particular emphasis on candidates who will complement or extend the department's strengths in laboratory and lecture development using creative and active pedagogical methods. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in introductory biology courses and Ph.D (preferred) or M.Sc. or other distinguishing attributes in biology. Duties will include undergraduate teaching, including live lecture, on-line and distance delivery formats, pedagogical/course development and assessment, and service-related activities. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching contributions and course development, and will exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.     The Department currently has 31 full time tenured and tenure track faculty members and 10 Instructors, and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs in Biological Sciences. The Department has a well-established and equipped research facility and is supported by strong research links with other University of Manitoba science departments.
