2022  6th Annual SABER West Conference

We regret to inform you that the 2022 SABER West meeting is cancelled. We have just been made aware that UC Irvine (and likely all of the campuses in the UC system) has made the decision to move instruction to remote learning at the beginning of the Winter academic quarter until at least January 14th in response to the Omicron variant. While language around large gatherings hasn’t been specified yet, we feel it would not be prudent to hold the event with in-person instruction on hold. We also wanted to give you as much notice as possible to enable you to cancel your travel plans. It is our understanding that the hotel has already cancelled your reservations (which you should have received confirmation of).

By the end of January, we’ll process reimbursements for your registration payments. We did want to note that we lose a small percentage for each transaction, and again with each refund. If you were willing to forfeit a bit of your reimbursement to minimize our losses, we would appreciate you taking a minute to complete the following form so we know how much to reimburse you. We completely understand those who want a full refund, and are happy to do so. In this case, there is no need to complete the form.

Thanks again for the 200+ of you who were interested in meeting in Irvine to learn from the greater STEM education community, and particularly those who volunteered to give a talk or facilitate a workshop. We hope to see many of you in Minneapolis this summer for the annual SABER meeting and in January 2023 in Irvine for next year’s SABER West!
