The Department of Biology at Brigham Young University seeks to fill a full-time, Continuing Faculty Status (CFS: BYU’s equivalent to tenure-track) position for teaching introductory biology. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching university-level introductory biology and demonstrate expertise in evidence-based pedagogies. Applicants should hold an MS and/or Ph.D. in biology, biology education, or a related discipline.

The successful candidate will act as the Introductory Biology Course Coordinator. They will teach introductory biology courses that meet the General Education requirements and develop and teach a TA training course for introductory biology teaching assistants. Additionally, they will fulfill committee assignments in the department, college, and/or university. There is no expectation of research scholarship associated with this position.  We anticipate that the successful candidate will remain current in the field of biology education and be actively involved in the broader biology education community, keep curricula current with the latest discoveries in biology, mentor undergraduate students, and contribute vigorously to creative activities to improve the introductory general education (GE) life science curriculum.
