    Job Title: Post Doctoral Scholar

    Department: Arts and Sciences | Center for Life Science Education

    The Postdoctoral Scholar will support research and assessment efforts focused on introductory biology and the biology major, as well as recommend and organize training in evidence-based instructional and curricular best practices to meet the needs of undergraduate students and instructors in biology at Ohio State. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work closely with faculty, staff, and teaching associates in CLSE and its partner departments (Chemistry & Biochemistry, Evolution, Ecology, & Organismal Biology, Microbiology, and Molecular Genetics) to manage research studies, conduct literature searches, secure IRB approval, collect data and report biology educational research results. The Postdoctoral Scholar will help coordinate biology education research and assessment efforts among CLSE staff and with faculty and staff in other departments.

    Required: PhD in Biology Education Research, or PhD with a Major in related field with teaching experience. Experience with biology education research and teaching in biology or pedagogy

    Desired: Experience in quantitative research methods focusing on biological teaching and success; experience with SPSS, R, Qualtrics, and Tableau software; experience collaborating on sponsored biology teaching awards.

    The pay range for this job profile is $50,000.00 – $54,000.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
