    Teaching Assistant Professor position in Microbiology

    The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for full-time Teaching Assistant Professor on a 9- or 10-month basis with an anticipated start date of 1 January 2025. The position is outside of the tenure stream and subject to annual review. Applicants must have a PhD in biology or applicable field and previous teaching experience. Courses could include Microbiology, Foundations of Biology, and courses in the candidate’s discipline such as Immunology, Virology, or Microbial EcologyOther preferred qualifications include documented success in some or all of the following areas: teaching large undergraduate classes, use of evidence-based teaching practicesability to develop effective teaching strategies for diverse student populationsand formal training in pedagogyDuties include teaching 2 to 3 courses per term (depending on class size); evening sections may be needed.
