The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (CI) in Portland State University’s College of Education (COE) seeks a tenure track faculty member to join the department at the Assistant Professor level in Secondary Education with expertise in science education and methods of teaching life and/or physical science to educators. Teach and collaborate with other STEM faculty in the state of the art Vernier STEM lab.
The successful candidate will be able to:
• Develop and/or teach courses in science education, secondary science methods, and/or teacher preparation through varied formats including in-person, online, and hybrid
• Build and maintain partnerships within local K-12 school districts that host our teacher candidates and which may be focused on Science and other STEM fields.
• Advance a scholarly agenda related to their field within STEM education, e.g., science teacher preparation and/or science teaching and learning.
