Hotel

The 2026 conference hotel will again be the Irvine Marriott (18000 Von Karman Ave, Irvine, CA 92612). The group rate has now ended but you can still book a room there if available.

The conference itself will take place on the UC Irvine campus so you are free to stay at any hotel. But we will have shuttle service to/from campus only at this hotel.

Flights

We recommend that you fly into John Wayne Airport (less than 5 miles to UC Irvine).

Getting to UCI:

Conference Shuttle (Irvine Marriott to UCI Parking Lot 7)

Saturday Morning: Bus picks up from Irvine Marriott at 8:15 am, 8:45 am, and 9:15 am.

Saturday Evening: Bus picks up from UCI Parking Lot 7 at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

Sunday Morning: Bus picks up from Irvine Marriott at 7:45 am, 8:15 am, and 8:45 am.

Sunday Afternoon: Bus picks up from UCI Parking Lot 7 at 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Driving and Parking

The meeting will take place in the Anteater Learning Pavilion.   Parking will be nearby in lot 7 (search "UCI lot 7" on google maps for driving directions). All cars must have a valid parking permit at all times. Once you arrive in Lot 7, there are "Pay-by-Plate" signs with information about paying for parking using your phone. This lot does not typically fill on weekends. Should you have issues finding parking in Lot 7, the Mesa Parking Structure is nearby and also features the "Pay-by-Plate" system and a permit dispenser for visitors.

University of California faculty from other campuses may be eligible to use the UC parking reciprocity system. More information on this program can be found here.

Childcare Grant:

For those needing assistance with childcare, SABER West is offering $200 childcare grants on a first-come, first-serve basis. All expenses will require formal documentation (e.g. airline ticket receipt, daycare receipt, etc) and funds will be provided after the conference.

Examples of acceptable expenses include (but are not limited to): cost of a babysitter either at home or in Irvine or non-car transportation to the meeting for a caregiver (flights, trains, etc). For any caregiver accompanying the attendee to the conference, they are welcome to eat the conference meals for free, please just make us aware this will be happening in advance.

To apply for the childcare grant, please complete the following form. You will be notified when abstract submission and registration opens as to whether you have received access to these funds. Once notified, you will need to register for the conference within 1 week or the funds will be made available to another participant.

If you have any questions, please contact Mike Wilton (mikewilton@ucsb.edu).
