Concordia College, Moorhead, MN invites applicants with a Ph.D. in biological sciences with expertise in the field of microbiology as well as significant knowledge and ability to provide instruction in the field of bioinformatics for a tenure track position in the Biology Department. Teaching responsibilities include microbiology, introductory biology courses including cell biology and genetics/molecular biology as well as development of an upper-level course or courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, ideally including a course focused on bioinformatics/data science. Potential exists for teaching a rotating, research-based seminar course.
The position is all undergraduate teaching with research expectations to have an active research lab involving undergraduates in their research. It is a full-time, tenure-track position. Positions are 9-month contracts, but they have a well-funded endowment supporting summer research stipends for our students and a small supply budget. Most research happens in 8 to 10-week summer sessions.
