     The Office of the Provost at Norfolk State University seeks to hire an experienced higher education professional to lead its Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The successful candidate will have expertise in pedagogical training for teaching and learning excellence in higher education, as well as specific expertise in both instructional technology and data informed educational practices that include student learning assessment.


    The individual who is hired for this position will report to the Vice Provost for Academic Effectiveness in Academic Affairs. The portfolio for this position broadly includes directing operations of the campus-wide Center for Teaching and Learning; educational innovation and classroom and learning climate; educational technology; academic support services; and data informed educational practices including student learning assessment and learning analytics.

    The Director will work with faculty innovators in the development and delivery of transformative learning experiences. This position works closely with faculty to promote and accelerate the use of evidence-based pedagogies, next generation learning environments, and principles of effective design. Duties include developing, planning and implementing faculty development programs that educate faculty on teaching, learning, and assessment best practices, as well as assisting in providing mentoring and individualized development plans for teaching effectiveness at all faculty levels.
