Faculty Success Manager at Codon Learning

    Codon Learning is a startup education technology company, developing college biology courseware that (1) helps instructors design and teach high-structure courses and (2) helps students develop stronger self-regulated learning skills. Our mission is to help faculty teach with evidence-based practices that boost learning, keep students in STEM, and bridge pervasive representation gaps.

    We are seeking a Faculty Success Manager with deep interest in evidence-based teaching. You will play an important role in helping us launch the learning platform in the fall semester. 

    This position is remote or based in our Golden, Colorado, office. 

    Start date: June 1, 2022.

    In this position, you will: 

    Primary responsibilities: 

    • work closely with instructors to design evidence-based courses in our platform

    • throughout each semester, check in with instructors to make sure they are successful in implementing evidence-based courses

    • edit/write assessment questions to maintain/augment our assessment question library in Genetics and Introductory Biology

    Secondary responsibilities: 

    • collaborate with team members, including our course directors, on product design and functionality using feedback from instructors and your own science and/or teaching expertise

    • collaborate on current and future research projects evaluating educational impacts of the platform

    • attend educational conferences to meet with instructors, give demonstrations of the platform, and collect feedback

    • wear many other hats (hey, we’re a startup!) 

    Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications (Required):

    • Masters or Phd in Biology (or related field) or STEM Education 

    • experience teaching college STEM courses or demonstrated interest in science education

    • great communication skills and a desire to collaborate with the rest of the team and the academic community 

    Strong candidates will be:

    • self-motivated, optimistic, hard-working, and dedicated to helping improve STEM education 

    • comfortable asking for help when the next steps are unclear 

    • adept at learning new technologies and skills
